UPERSERVER 6015V-T/6015V-TLP User's Manual
1-2 Serverboard Features
At the heart of the SuperServer 6015V-T/6015V-TLP lies the X7DVL-E/X7DVL-i, a
dual processor serverboard based upon Intel's 5000V chipset. Below are the main
features of the X7DVL-E/X7DVL-i.
Processor
The X7DVL-E/X7DVL-i has two LGA 771-pin sockets to support two Dual-Core
Intel Xeon 5100/5000 series processors. Please refer to the support section of
our web site for a complete listing of supported processors (http://www.supermicro.
com/support/). Note: Although the X7DVL-i supports 5000 series processors, the
low power confi guration of the 6015V-TLP server only allows it to support 5300 and
5100 low-voltage series processors.
Memory
The X7DVL-E/X7DVL-i has six (6) 240-pin DIMM sockets that can support up to
16 GB of ECC FBD (Fully Buffered DIMM) DDR2-667/533 SDRAM. The X7DVL-
E/X7DVL-i's dual-channel memory bus requires modules to be populated in pairs.
All memory modules must be the same size and speed.
Serial ATA
A Serial ATA controller is incorporated into the ESB2 (South Bridge) portion of the
5000V chipset to provide a six-port 3 Gb/s SATA subsystem, which is RAID 0, 1,
10 and RAID 5 supported. The SATA drives are hot-swappable units.
Note: The operating system you use must have RAID support to enable the hot-
swap capability and RAID function of the Serial ATA drives.
PCI Expansion Slots
The X7DVL-E has one x8 PCI-Express slot, one x4 PCI-Express x4 slot, two 64-bit
133/100 MHz PCI-X slots and two 32-bit PCI slots. The X7DVL-i has one x8 PCI-
Express slot, two 64-bit 133/100 MHz PCI-X slots and one 32-bit PCI slot. One
riser card is included with the system to support a single add-on card in a 64-bit
133 MHz PCI slot. (The 6015V-TLP also includes an optional riser card to support
one PCI-Exress x8 add-on card. See Chapter 5 for details.)
