3-4 Drive Carrier LEDs

Your chassis uses SAS or SATA, but not both at the same time.

SAS/SATA Drives

Each SAS/SATA drive carrier has two LEDs.

Green or Blue:• Each SAS/SATA drive carrier has a green LED. When illumi-

nated, this green LED (on the front of the SAS/SATA drive carrier) indicates

drive activity. A connection to the SAS/SATA backplane enables this LED to

blink on and off when that particular drive is being accessed.

Red:• The red LED indicates a SAS/SATA drive failure. If one of the SAS/SATA

drives fail, you should be notied by your system management software.
