Chapter 1: Introduction

Onboard Controllers/Ports

One ﬂ oppy drive connector and two onboard ATA/100 connectors (one reserved

for the use of a compact ﬂ ash card) are provided to support IDE hard drives or

ATAPI devices. The color-coded I/O ports include one COM port (an additional COM

header is located on the serverboard), one parallel port, two USB 2.0 ports, PS/2

mouse and keyboard ports and two gigabit Ethernet ports.

Other Features

Other onboard features that promote system health include onboard voltage moni-

tors, a chassis intrusion header, auto-switching voltage regulators, chassis and CPU

overheat sensors, virus protection and BIOS rescue.
